What We Do

We are an advocacy chapter of the AAUP (American Association of University Professors). That means we work with other stakeholders on campus to advocate for faculty rights and shared governance. See some of the issues we have worked on here. We are not a faculty union, although other campuses do have unionized AAUP chapters. We do no collect chapter dues but encourage all faculty to join the national organization.

Who We Are

Lisa Covert, CofC Chapter President

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of History and am affiliated with the Urban Studies and Latin American and Caribbean Studies programs. I have served as the AAUP chapter president since fall 2020. The other members of our Executive Committee are Kate Mullaugh (Associate Professor of Chemistry), Blake Scott (Assistant Professor of International Studies), and Elisa Jones (Assistant Professor of History and Women's and Gender Studies Affiliate Faculty). We are all volunteers!
